Retired Head foot ball coach dies

I read an article about a retired EDINA FOOTBALL coach that passed away. Stav Canakes, dies at the age of seventy five in his home of shakopee. He was the coach from 1961 untill he retired in 1990. The retired coach served in the army, and afterwards, played for the gophers football team. He then had a five year in Canadian Football League. He then coached for the greatest city's football team, Edina. He had a record of 203-69-1.He had a very good record and was always dominate. He led them to fifteen conference championships and the 1978 state title. He was the face of Edina Football for almost thirty years. After Buddish got injured, and then Edina lost to Eden Prarie, this is the last thing citizens of Edina wanted to hear. Canakes will be missed and for surly never forgotten.
